An immersive experience in our Manhattan gallery where our in-house collections are imagined, manufactured, and exhibited from start to finish.

The 11th floor of our gallery was previously dedicated entirely to mannequin production and during the pandemic it was transformed to include 9,000 sq ft of exhibition space alongside our sculpture studio and factory. The small team of artisans that once created mannequins now applies their savoir-faire to ultra-niche furniture, an incredible feat made possible by using similar techniques: a form is sculpted in clay or plaster in our sculpture studio before the piece is molded and executed in Plasterglass steps away in our factory.

Our sculpture studio has hosted artists-in-residence including Patrick Naggar, Vladimir Kagan, Paul Mathieu, and Elizabeth Garouste, among others. They work alongside our resident Master Sculptor to create exclusive pieces and they often relish the experience of creating as a sculptor does: conceptualizing a shape, making it with their hands, experimenting and changing it until the form is perfected.

Our proprietary Plasterglass material imparts the look of plaster but is durable enough for indoor or outdoor use. Plasterglass can be hand-pigmented, sanded or hand-waxed to accommodate a particular design though often the artist elects to maintain the rough, fingermarked texture that commemorates his or her time with the RALPH PUCCI sculpture studio.

Sculpture Studio

The creative process often begins in the sculpture studio, from artist collaborations to in-house designs. The first iterations of the form are sculpted in clay or plaster, with the artist's hand evident in the rough, fingermark-textured texture of the material.

Making a Mold

The perfected form is enveloped in clay to create an impression, which is then used to hand-build a mold. The artisans in our factory employ this mold for casting, a time-honored fabrication process.

Hand Finishing

After the piece is cast in our proprietary Plasterglass material, it is perfected by hand. Seams are sanded, edges are smoothed, and curves are refined.

The Spray Booth

Once a piece is finished, a clear coat or wax is meticulously applied to the surface. This last crucial step enhances durability and can subtly transform a design: a clear coat yields a matte finish, while wax deepens color and imparts sheen.
