“In & Out” marks Eric Schmitt’s debut at McCadden Place gallery, and his first Los Angeles show in over a decade. The fourteen works, arriving off their New York debut in January, are a celebration of craftsmanship, made both in France and New York, while also nodding to several of the pieces’ suitability for the outdoors. “For the Plasterglass pieces we worked exactly as if it were bronze, even choosing a range of colors that is similar to patinas. One process is no more noble than the other.” Schmitt’s signature blackened bronze finds a new cousin in hand-waxed Plasterglass. Ceramic imparts a dose of color to the collection on the Out Side side tables and In Fine table lamps.

Los Angeles-based artist John Wigmore presents Meridian, a collection of nearly 40 new ceramic tables, sconces and side tables that combine the warmth of handmade soft forms and the hard edges inspired by Mexican Modernist Architecture. The palette is of natural textures and colors found in the earthen landscape to produce unique painterly works. Wigmore also found inspiration in the abstract sculpture forms of the 1920s-30s.

Gallery walls will be hung with fourteen photos by Diego Uchitel, the Argentinian-born, L.A.-based photographer known for his fashion and portrait portfolio. Titled “Luz y Sombra”, the works borders on abstract, nude silhouettes that are moody in their sensuality.
